Centre de Ski Le Massif

One of the most popular and quickly changing ski resorts in Quebec is le Massif du Charlevoix. Although this resort has been around since the 70's it is a far cry from what it looked like in those days. Back in those day, a van acted as the lift and skiers had the opportunity to head down ungroomed trails with an amazing view over the St. Lawrence River.

Today you still have the pleasure of those amazing views as well as one of the top 3 women's downhill runs in the world to challenge the adrenaline skier within. The centre is now the eastern training centre for the Canadian ski team.

The tide is out and the skiing is spectacular....sun, river and snow.
Skiers can enter by the sommet entrance or drive down to the base and approach from the village of Petite Rivière Saint-François.

The ski centre has an assortment of great chalets and restaurants.  The Camp Boule Crêperie which is at the top of the Camp Boule section of the centre is a great place to enjoy a mouth-watering crêpe in a lovely old rustic chalet which sits at 806 metres above sea level.

Mer and Monts restaurant which sits at the sommet is considered as a gourmet's delight. I would suggest you get to the hill early for the first tracks and end your ski day at 1:30 so that you can enjoy lunch here along with the beautiful view.
or..
You may want to pack a lunch and hit the base pub or the sommet pub at the end of the day. The sommet pub is known for some pretty lively action at the end of a ski day. The action starts around 4 p.m.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW:

get there early, the ski centre does not groom their trails and they often get some good fresh dumps which make skiing best in the morning.
Beautiful views of the Charlevoix hills and the river.

à bientôt
